Sable Creek till-sampling program supports down-plunge continuity
A 2024 till-sampling program returned gold grains in the down-ice direction from the historic workings, consistent with the vein system extending below the lowest developed level.
A till-sampling program completed over the Sable Creek historic workings has returned visible gold grains in samples collected down-ice of the old shaft, at a density and grain morphology consistent with a local rather than a far-travelled source. Combined with historic mine plans showing the vein open below the lowest level developed before the 1971 closure, the result supports our view that Sable Creek was closed on economics, not exhaustion.
A scoping-level review of shaft rehabilitation and a confirmation-drilling program to test the down-plunge extension is underway.
